Bio
Native Chinese Speaker with more than 20 years of education and work experience in the USA.

Major accomplishment in translation: translated a physical chemistry monograph from English to Chinese, resulting in book publication by Science Press, Beijing, China.

Ph.D., Organic Materials Chemistry, The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Graduate Level Courses & Training in Analytical Chemistry, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Born and raised in China, I received my K-12, undergraduate (B.S. in chemistry), and graduate education (M.S. in physical chemistry) in China. I immigrated to the US in the 1990s for further graduate education and earned a Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA). I also did a brief postdoctoral training at Northwestern University (Evanston/Chicago, USA).

My training in chemistry spanned all of the major chemical specialties: physical chemistry (photoelectrochemistry at Beijing University, China), analytical chemistry (capillary electrophoresis at Duquesne University, USA), organic materials chemistry (synthesis and characterization of organic electrooptical molecules at the University of Pennsylvania, and synthesis of organic molecules for quantum computing and quantum information processing applications at Northwestern University, USA).

Before my immigration to the USA, I translated a chemistry monograph, entitled "Solar Energy Conversion: A Photoelectrochemical Approach, ISBN 9780387514741, Springer-verlag (1990)", from English to Chinese, and the book (光电化学太阳能转换,ISBN 9787030037848) was published by Science Press, Beijing, China in 1994 and reprinted in 1996 by China Youth Press, Beijing, China.

Besides my training in chemistry, I also had hands-on experience in digital electronics involving fabrication of electronic circuits (from IC chips, capacitors, resistors, etc.) for the computer-controlled automatic measurement in photoelectrochemical solar energy conversion.

With advanced training in science, familiarity with both American and Chinese cultures, fluency in English and Chinese languages, and extensive experience in Chinese-English technical translations, I am able to render technical translations with both accuracy and style.
