My desktop computer, my iPad as an extra screen for certain jobs and, for emergencies and time away from home, a laptop with the same software that I have installed on my "regular" computer.

My "workstation".
And maybe two, if reading (and possibly replying to) e-mails from my phone is viewed as work.

I used to have 3: one desktop in Lisbon, one desktop in Brussels and a laptop in between. Now I'm "reduced" to only two and I must say that I haven't touch my laptop for some time...

I'm not sure since 'device' or 'computer device' can include devices with input or output functions such as keyboards, mouses, display monitors, hard disk drives, CD-ROM players, printers, audio speakers and microphones, and other hardware units.

Technical translators are always nitpicky.

My main PC, the one I'm sitting at right now, runs MS Office 2016. I use WordFast Classic, which it turns out doesn't work with Excel or PowerPoint files on this PC, so I keep a backup PC running W2010 and the MS Office 2010 version, which I can set up quickly if I want to work with Excel or PPT.

Apart from that, I also have a fully operational PC in the spare room; I'm not sure if it runs Windows 7 or 10, but the Office version on it is 2013, which doesn't work with WFC/Excel/PPT e

Apart from that, I also have a fully operational PC in the spare room; I'm not sure if it runs Windows 7 or 10, but the Office version on it is 2013, which doesn't work with WFC/Excel/PPT either. I mainly keep it there so that anyone visiting can use it, and the rest of the time, like right now, it serves as an Internet radio. I usually have BBC 6 Music on in the background when working.

I also have two laptops. One of them is usually linked to the TV, as I use it for Internet. One of them has an English operating system and MS Office suite and the other one is in Spanish. One of them (or perhaps both, I'm not sure) runs 2010 and can handle WDC/XL/PPT. I normally use them when there is an issue with the PCs or if I have to work away from home for any reason.

I realise that not everyone can afford to do this, especially when just starting out. Actually, neither can I, but over the years what I usually do is when one PC starts to get old, I get it refurbished and buy a new one at the same time. I either keep the refurbished ones for backup, or give/lend them to friends or colleagues who might need them.

So that's 3 PCs and 2 laptops. I gave an old laptop to a friend a couple of years ago and as far as I know she still gets some use out of it.

Devices? May 15, 2017

I use one desktop, and I have a notebook for mobility/emergencies.
But if I consider "devices", this list could well go to 5 or 10.
