Hello coleagues. My question is quite simple: what happens if two translators give the same answer to a kudoz question? And if they are both correct? And if the second one posted the answer 15 hours later than the 1st one? Which one would you grade? The 1st or the 2nd one? Thank you. Veronica
If both answers ARE the same, then the second one was copied from the first one, right? How ethical is that?? Alternatively, if the YOU LIKE both answers the same... you're free to choose whichever helped you most.

Or perhaps there was a bug and (s)he didn´t see the previous identical answer. However, the points should go to the 1st person, who besides being faster, gave also references. The second one posted the answer as "my suggestion" Veronica

In this case, I think that you should give the points to the first answerer. Although there is a great possibility, still it doesn't necessarily mean that the second answer was a copy of the first one. Moreover, provided that the second answerer had the same answer, he/she could simply post a peer comment (agree/disagree/neutral) and gain 3 BrowniZ by doing that. A clever idea, isn't it?

Hi Veronica, While identical answers may easily be posted within a couple of minutes without the second answer being a copy of the first, any delay in excess of, say, 20 or 30 minutes indicates that the second answer is indeed a copy. IMHO there is no room for interpretation anymore regarding this point - the second answerer has definitely seen the first answer. I'd thus recommend to award the points to the first answer, all the more so since it included references. ... Clearly the answer is the one that came in sooner and provided references to support it. However, I have occasionally seen new site users posting identical answers simply because they are unaware that this should be done through peer agreement. Sometimes we should consider other possibilites before waving sharp sticks in people's faces. If, on the other hand, this is an experienced user who knows full well what he/she is doing...maybe you could go and ask ...
