Does anyone know any legal online site offering downloadable music and movies, and available worldwide (especially in South America), but not limited to the US/Canada or Europe? Thanks, Nicolas | | | John Cutler Spain Local time: 02:02 Spanish to English + ... One that claims to be legal | Apr 27, 2007 |
I've used one that claims to be legal, although I can't vouch for the authenticity of their claim. It's a site dedicated to deaf people that has movies available in the original language with subtitles in Spanish. www.cinesubtitulado.cl | | | | Nicolas Coyer (X) Colombia Local time: 20:02 Spanish to French + ... Thanks a lot for those links, Henrik. Say, have you bought anything from all of those sites?

I have accounts with all four and from time to time I download music from these sites. They have rich collections and very reasonable prices. They accept different payment methods and work anywhere in the world. The only thing is that I don't remember if those ending with .ru have English version, or they are only in Russian. | | | One more thing | Apr 27, 2007 |
When opening an account, don't indicate your main e-mail address. Just open a separate Yahoo address to use with such sites. These type of sites are usually very attractive targets for spammers; robots keep searching these sites for new e-mail addresses and send spam. Otherwise these sites are safe, and you will find a lot of good music there.
Hi there, I used to download quite much stuff from allofmp3 because they do have a fairly large collection (both Russian and international music, lots of German stuff too) at VERY reasonable prices but the site has been having legal difficulties in Russia for quite some time now. Apparently, the big Western music companies and record labels didn't like allofmp3 to sell the music at such low prices. They (the site) claim it is legal in Russia but nevertheless had to stop working temporarily. I have still some 5 USD in my account left and have been trying to spend this remainder - but to no avail. The site has been continuously down for at least 3 weeks now (I check daily, sometimes twice). There used to be service interruptions before (or difficulties with the transfer of money from my credit card to my allofmp3 account) but nothing as long-going as this. I don't have much hope for allofmp3 but if it does come back - it's an excellent, well arranged site with a huge music collection. Best, Barbara

Lincoln Hui wrote: You can download from iTunes. Do you know of a URL that explains whether one can download music from iTunes in South America? I could not find that information on Apple's own web site, but the Wikipedia page seems to indicate that iTunes has very limited availability in South America. (Don't forget to track down Nicolas, who is no longer a member of ProZ.com, to give him this great news.) As for the sites mentioned in the rest of this thread, only two seem to be alive at this time: https://www.iomoio.com/ A Ukrainian site selling mainstream music at EUR 0.13 per track. MP3. Minimum deposit EUR 13, but no subscriptions. Can pay by debit/credit card (not all cards work) or bitcoin. https://www.emusic.com/ Monthly/annual subscription only, for EUR 0.50 per track. MP3. Can pay by credit card or PayPal. Doesn't seem to have any mainstream music. Their e-mail footer says that they're a British company.
