My name is Rafael Smeers and I've been working on game localization as an editor, reviewer, and translator since 2018 throughout the localization of four games: Dauntless, MINImax Tinyverse, 24 Killers, and Snap the Sentinel.

➜ Dauntless (Phoenix Labs) Free-to-play monster-hunting action RPG MMOG multiplatform cross-play title with over 25 million players. Commitment to deadlines, consistency, spelling, NDA, availability for emergency translations, and teamwork. In June 2021, MCV/DEVELOP mentioned the game's localization as one of the reasons for its international success. As an editor, was tasked with managing the glossary and translation memory, writing team performance reports, transmitting official announcements, evaluating and assisting new translators, editing and approving translations, and working with other editors to set guidelines and create work efficiency reward systems.

➜ MINImax Tinyverse (Nimble Neuron/O’ol Blue) Free-to-play RTS/RPG multiplatform cross-play MMOG. Translated, edited, and assisted with game testing and internationalization tips. Brought to life translations rich in canonical and inconsistency-free transcreations.

➜ 24 Killers (Happy Shabby Games) Life-simulation RPG/adventure game for PC available on Steam. Solo work on the localization of the whole game, including graphic content, store pages, and unlockable trophies. Translated, edited, and assisted with internationalization tech, coming up with creative yet charming solutions to text truncation/overflow instances.
