Bio
Language is my passion. At early age reading and writing was always my favourite things and for that reason I decided to take Communication – Journalism at college. There I improved my knowledge of my own language in terms of grammar and style. Working for an important newspaper in São Paulo as a reporter and editor, interviewing people on the phone or in person, checking facts and researching information helped me to develop skills such as multitasking, working under pressure due to tight deadlines and active listening.

When I moved to England to spend a year studying English, I realized that translation would be a better choice of career, since I already had good knowledge of my own language and I was improving greatly my second one. Back to Brazil, I took translation classes at a renowned school in São Paulo and perfected my skills in different fields of translation (subtitling, dubbing, technical translation, CAT tools, localization). Since then (2005) translation has been my main activity as a freelancer, which also gave me the opportunity to further my studies and add new languages to my portfolio such as French, Spanish and Italian.

In 2010, working at home all by myself with little social interaction besides the computer was taking a heavy toll on my social life. For that reason I decided to apply for a position in cruise ships, where I could still put to good use my language skills and travel around the world. During the last three years of this travel break I developed new skills and a taste for tourism and customer services and now I'm back to take new challenges in my life.
