A través del proyecto “Fortalecimiento de la gobernabilidad, género y participación política de las mujeres en el ámbito local” xxxxxxx analiza los procesos de gobernabilidad, los obstáculos que enfrentan las mujeres en el ejercicio de la participación y las estrategias más adecuadas para superarlos. A grandes rasgos, esta iniciativa busca promover los derechos de las mujeres, la igualdad de género, la participación y el liderazgo político en la planificación y gestión de los gobiernos locales de América Latina.
El proyecto, que cuenta con la financiación de la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional, AECI, tiene una duración de 3 años y analiza la participación de las mujeres latinoamericanas en 10 países de la Región Andina y la Región Centroamericana. Translation - English In spite of international agreements, extended efforts and the many initiatives in place, the political participation of women in decision-making at the local level continues to be significantly and unjustly less than that of men. At the same time, women’s interests and needs are not being adequately considered in local planning and management.
XXXXXXX's project ‘Strengthening Governance from a Gender Perspective and Women's Political Participation at the Local Level in Latin America’ analyses governance processes, the difficulties women face in everyday participation, and useful strategies to overcome these difficulties. In broad terms, the main goal of this initiative is the promotion of women’s rights, gender equality, participation and political leadership in local government planning and management in Latin America.
