Hello,

I am a starting translator and I plan to translate into my native language and also publish several works of a certain great Italian author. The problem is, I do not speak Italian, so I intend to use the English translations of his books as the texts that I will be translating.

I understand that I need to contact the author's executors (he's deceased for some years) to get the permission to publish the book. Do I need to also contact someone involved with the English translation? The person who owns the rights to the English translation, be it the translator or the publisher?

Thank you very mich in advance.
