Works out great. Would definitely interfere if I had to commute to work.
My daughter is grown up enough to understand that mummy has to work to put bread on the table and buy goodies now and then.

Not any more, my children have left the nest long ago, I live alone and I’m very organized…

I don't have a family like kids or husband, so I don't have to look after no one. But when I am at home, and I mean with sisters and niece, that's a big problem.
As matter of fact, it's really hard to focus on my works while I'm sitting there, in their same home. It's a kind of a mess but it's okay)

Quite the opposite -- it enables me to have a family life.

It works great! Aug 16, 2018

I am able to look after my 3 children (including to breastfeed one of them!) and organize my schedule when I have the time for it. So I don't need to pay someone else to do what a mother can do best!

That's what a coworking space is for! Aug 16, 2018

I couldn't focus at home, so now I'm working from a coworking space which is en route to my son's school. Very convenient all around.

Not much Aug 16, 2018

Being single, the only interference is when I'm checking e-mail while away from home visiting friends and family, or when I decide to work from someone else's place during a longer visit (which, all things considered, is family interfering with work since being freelance allows me to go on visits despite having work to do).

A little Aug 16, 2018

It does interfere a little. I get complaints that I'm not paying attention all the time, and my attention/concentration is regularly interrupted, but nothing really serious.
The benefits and advantages of working at home and being closer to the family, however, exceed these little inconveniences by far... very far.

Funny question Aug 16, 2018

Interesting that you ask whether working from home interferes with family life, and not the other way round. So would family life be better with the translator absent? When the CAT's away, the mice will play?
