Full time Language Experts/Translators in DE, EN, FR

We are looking for full time Language Experts / Translators!

Right now, we are looking for FULL TIME (160-180 hours per month) Language Experts / Translators for the ASR and NLG (Chat) teams for DE, EN, and FR languages.

Responsibilities ASR (language: German)
-Management and quality assurance of language data production for speech processing systems
-On-device testing of systems and manual data collection needed to resolve quality issues
-Performing tasks and assuring quality of crowdsourcing teams (localization, translation, transcription, annotation)
-Contributing to quality verification and quality improvements of available text and audio language data
-Contributing to linguistic crowdsourcing system development via proactive feedback
-Other linguistic tasks depending on actual needs

Responsibilities NLG (languages: German, French, English (Br))

-Preparation of language resources (localization, translation, annotation, corpora, etc.) for NLP systems development
-Creative writing based on provided style guidelines
-Review of linguistic work from other translators
-Post-edition of machine-translated content
-Development of new linguistic resources based on actual needs
-Close collaboration with NLP experts, engineers and 3rd party companies on language-specific developments
-On-device testing of language resources
-Reported issues verification
-Other linguistic tasks depending on actual needs


Skills and Qualifications
-Native speaker of one of the following languages: English, French, German
-University degree in Language Studies, Translation, Interpreting, Philology or related fields
-Deep knowledge of culture of the German/French/English speaking countries
-Expertise in phonology, phonetic transcription and very good knowledge of grammar of the given language
-Very good command of English (min. C1 level)
-Knowledge how to work with text data in spreadsheets (Excel, LibreOffice Calc)
-Practical knowledge of Windows and Linux environment
-Quality-focus and attention to details
-Ability to support several projects at one time, and to accept re-prioritization as necessary
-Great communication skills, positive attitude and team-work approach
-Time availability: full-time
-Registered business owner issuing invoices


Nice to have
-Practical knowledge of the Linux environment (especially command line Linux tools) and pipeline processing
-Practical knowledge of at least one scripting language: Python, Bash or Perl,
-Experience in sound or speech recording and processing (Audacity, Sox, Sound Forge etc.)
-Experience with regular expressions
-Previous experience in translation, content creation, proof-reading, etc.
-Strong linguistic and creative writing skills
-Living in or around Madrid, Milan, London, Paris, Frankfurt (not required)
