Source text - English Key Motivational Factors and Beliefs about Teaching
When addressing the motivational factors associated with teachers and choosing a career in the classroom, it is important to address the specific motivators for those who are initially deciding on the career in the first place. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivators are interconnected in determining the motivation of prospective teachers (Thomson, 2011). In this mixed methods study, quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews were collected and analyzed. All participants in the study were undergraduate students enrolled in education courses who were considering a career in education. The results showed that there were a variety of reasons for wanting to become a teacher but quantitative results indicated that altruistic reasons were dominant. Extrinsic reasons, such as salary and other job benefits were far less important to those surveyed. While these trends were apparent in the study, it was noted that each candidate had a unique set of reasons that motivated them to pursue a teaching career. The altruistic reasons that motivated the prospective teachers in the study were cited as “desire to help children learn” (Thomson, p. 24). This was a key component that many study participants noted for why they would want to work as teachers.

At construction sites, use will often be made of temporary electrical equipment. With that, thought must be given to cable winders, extension cords, electrical tools and construction power boxes. Before use, these must be checked for exterior damage. Damaged equipment must not be used and must be reported to the supervisor. The ground-fault switch in the construction power box has a general security value of 30 mA per outgoing line. Cable winders must be completely unwound. Rolled cables through which a lot of power is drawn work as a coil. The heat that is generated can melt the insulation with short-circuiting as a result. Pay attention to the maximum allowable power of the winder in the wound or unwound condition in order not to overload the cable and to ensure that the cable is suitable for powering the connected devices. One of the VCA requirements is that electrical work equipment be inspected at least once per year for proper operation, the state of the maintenance and the electrical safety. Various security measures can be applied to housings:
★ double insulation, secured against penetration of dust and moisture;
★ secured against penetration of moisture, for example rain;
★ secured against penetration of dust;
★ secured against impacts and falling items.
The degree of protection is indicated with the letters IP, followed by three numbers. The first number stands for the protection against dust, the second against moisture, and the third against impacts/falling items. The higher the number (max. 6 for dust and 8 for moisture), the better the security. The third number is still in development.

Everyone has seen a hanging scaffold before on the façade of a large building. They will be used for maintenance and cleaning work activities. The placement of a hanging scaffold is work for specialists. They must test the hanging scaffold with at least 1.25x the maximum operating load before it is put into use. During use, the maximum load may not be exceeded. People who work with the hanging scaffold must have had good instruction from the site supervisor before use, and its operation must be tested. The following must be clearly indicated on a hanging scaffold:
★ the name of the manufacturer;
★ the date on which the hanging scaffold was made;
★ the type number;
★ the maximum load (which of course may not be exceeded);
★ a CE certification mark (for hanging scaffolds after 1996).
There is always a risk that the hanging scaffold begins to hang at an angle. Therefore, the users are required to wear a safety harness that must be secured to a special attachment point. In order to prevent someone from being injured by falling items, the area below the hanging scaffold must be marked off with a tape or barriers. If there is a power disruption, the hanging scaffold must be evacuated. As long as there is work taking place on the hanging scaffold, the operations panel must remain manned. A hanging scaffold may never be left unattended when ready for use. The minimum age for the user is 18 years old. If there is no or reduced eye contact with the operator, a communications device must be used.
Rolling scaffolds
Rolling scaffolds have some advantages with respect to regular steel standing scaffolds: they are a bit lighter and easier to move. They also have, however, disadvantages: because they are lighter and smaller, they are less stable than a regular scaffold.
Rules for working on a rolling scaffold:
★ block the wheels before anyone climbs on the rolling scaffold;
★ climb the rolling scaffold on the inside. The sides act as ladders;
★ bring all the materials and tools to the top in a safe manner;
★ keep the work floor clean and cover it with sand when slick;
★ the stabilisers are intended for steadiness, not for climbing onto the scaffold;
★ a rolling scaffold may never be left unattended.
There are also rules for moving a rolling scaffold:
★ the scaffold may never be moved if there is still something or someone on it;
★ ensure that during the move, no tools and material are still on the scaffold;

I'm a professional translator (English - Arabic) from Egypt. I have a Licentiate from the Languages and Translation Faculty, Pharos University in Alexandria, Egypt. I started my translation career in 2014. I translated several types of texts but my main experience lies in the medical field and the marketing field. Significant Projects
1. Medical Websites
I had the privilege to work as a freelance medical translator for three prominent medical websites in the market. Texts included hospitals/clinics databases, reviews, medical researches, and health care articles, medical consent forms, medication package inserts, and use instruction reports.
2. Health Campaigns
I participated as a medical translator and content creator for a youth initiative in Alexandria, Egypt to create health awareness campaigns, mental health awareness campaigns, and preparing checkup brochures for patients.
3. Travel Websites
I translated full websites providing travel services. The texts included information on different cities around the world, flight booking, hotel booking, transportation services, train trips, travel activities, and miscellaneous articles about travel.
4. Safety Training Book
I translated a book about basic safety measures prepared by a construction company for its Arab workers. The book included labor laws, safety measures, construction different dangers such as hazardous substances, explosions, fires, and prevention methods.
5. Arabic Grammar Book
I translated Arabic grammar books from Arabic to English. It included grammar rules lessons, Arabic reading texts, Arabic listening exercises, questions and answers and other TAFL content.
6. Real Estate Websites
I translated different real estate websites and articles related to rents, hotels, and property investment.
7. Fashion Projects
I worked with different online fashion accounts to create and localize fashion content, ranging from blog posts to online sales and social media posts. I was also hired as a freelance translator to work indirectly with clients in the fashion industry.
Skills
Beside my translation skills, I developed over the years other auxiliary skills to provide the best service possible for my clients.
Research: I have excellent research skill, which helped me navigate through various translation projects in different subfields with ease, and assisted me in finding accurate terms, and picking the most suitable expression.
Writing: My writing skill proved to be a great asset to my translation career as it enabled me adapt to the different styles, and tones on the source text and empowered me with the needed fluidity to recreate the text in the target language with a similar style and tone.
Knowledge: The thirst for learning more is a powerful method to grow in any career, and I believe it's more vital in the translation industry as it makes me more aware of the latest updates in the different translation fields, and prepares me for the different types of texts I may receive. Specifically if I'm translating renewable fields such as medicine and marketing.
SEO: Translating many websites gave me a growing attention to the different SEO tools and keywords to help my clients spread their message in their desired market and target audience smoothly.
Formatting: First impressions are important, and formatting grants me a great first impression, so I always make sure of it even without the clients' instructions.
Design: I took courses and workshops to develop the design skills necessary for many projects such as translating brochures, flyers, contracts, presentations, booklets, menus etc. So beside handling normal word files, I can also handle pdfs, sheets, guides, different image files, and the most common file types.
Project Management: I can handle large projects because I'm a very organized person with time management skills and problem solving techniques.
Translation Process
1. Reading: First, I start reading/skimming the document to make sure it's within my area of expertise
2. Instructions: Second, I check all the instructions, style guidelines provided by the client (if any).
3. Translation: Third, I create the first translation draft.
4. Research: Fourth, I conduct any needed research for terms, expressions, and better word choices.
5. Editing: I pay extra attention to the following areas while editing the first draft:
Basic checks include spelling, typing errors, grammar checks, syntax errors, missing numbers, and missing punctuation. (I do this both manually and by using smart tools without compromising the privacy of the document to any third parties).
Reviewing the text for any mistranslation or any literal translation.
Based on the research I made and the style guidelines provided by the client, I recheck the terms I used throughout the text to make sure of the accuracy of the terminology and to maintain its consistency.
I check the text for any culturally sensitive content I should change to suit the target audience and reread it to guarantee the fluidity of the meaning.
6. Formatting: I fix formatting/ design issues (if any).
7. Delivery: I deliver the agreed file type by the agreed deadline.
