Grammar question مرتين or مرتان?

Greetings everyone! I have been trying to find my answer in the grammar guides, but so far cannot classify the above as tamyiz or any other part of speech with its respective rule.

Source: The house was rebuilt on two occasions.

Target: أعيد بناء المنزل مرتين (أو مرتان)؟

I realize I am taking a short cut by asking my question here, instead of researching it further. My apologies for this.
