I've been meaning to ask this for quite some time: are ctrl-arrows to move one word at a time not working in webtrans (memoQweb), or is it just me/my setup? I'm using Chrome running on macOS 12.6.

Under MacOS, you need to press the Command button instead of the Ctrl button.

Normally it is Alt+arrow.

Yes, you're right, but with the difference that the "Alt" key is called the "Option" key in macOS. According to Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201236):

  • Command–Up Arrow: Move the insertion point to the beginning of the document.

  • Command–Down Arrow: Move the insertion point to the end of the document.

  • Command–Left Arrow: Move the insertion point to the beginning of the current line.

  • Command–Right Arrow: Move the insertion point to the end of the current line.

  • Option–Left Arrow: Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word.

  • Option–Right Arrow: Move the insertion point to the end of the next word.

Thank you! I can't believe I hadn't seen this! It's right there in the manual:

https://docs.memoq.com/current/en/memoQWeb-help/mqw-shortcuts.html

The developers must've had their reasons for going with Ctrl/Command, although I should say it's still confusing, as most other web apps including some CAT tools (just checked this in Smartcat) do use Alt/Option. So after a long working session in WebTrans typing in other windows becomes confusing due to muscle memory. This looks like a candidate for the memoQ Ideas forum.
