"Find and replace" gone missing in Trados Studio Thread poster: Hanna Sunnari
|
Hi, I have a very annoying problem with my Trados Studio. I can't bring the Find and Replace window back to the screen (I have two). It is shown on the task bar, but the options restore, minimize and maximize are grey. I have WIndows 7. How can I bring the window back to the screen? Thanks in advance, Hanna

You probably moved the window to the second monitor and it is not present anymore now, so that the window is at a position that does not exist anymore in your current configuration. This is a well-known problem. However, AFAIK, the current position of the Find + Replace window is not kept across sessions, so if you restart Studio and hit CTRL-F, you should see your window again. If, for any reason, this does not work, I suggest you do the following: 1. Close Studi... Restart Studio. You should now be able to get your S+R window on the screen again. Walter ▲ Collapse

Find & Replace still greyed out | May 18, 2015 |
After pressing Crtl+F, it's visible, but still greyed out. Only the Find box can be invoked. Crtl+H won't work. Today it's gone again | May 19, 2015 |
When I start using Studio today, the Find & Replace disappear again. Yes, it can be brought back by pressing Crtl + F But Could this problem be truly solved please?
This time, suddenly gone mid-session | May 19, 2015 |
My computer and Studio had been on for several hours, then suddenly "Find and replace" is not there. This time even Crtl +F won't bring it to surface. WinKey+ arrow tried in vain. I have to re-restart Studio. And it's back again. Just a thought, Could this be due to my frequent use of both Web Lookup plugin and Find box?

Error upon Ctrl + H | May 19, 2015 |
This time around I've got another situation. The Find & Replace icon is available, but when I click on it or using the Crtl +H shortcut, I only got an error message "InvalidArgument=Value of "1" is not valid for "index". Only Re-starting Studio can make it work again.

This morning when I started up Studio 2015 and started working on a new file (no associated project), the search + replace feature was gone. Period. I am not working with two monitors. I have absolutely no idea how this happened, and I can't find any way to fix it. I've looked at the solutions provided in 2011, but they don't seem to work. Can anybody out there help me?
