Gracias!

slow clot of the caymans

Frase muy sugerente que podría traducirse como "slow clot of the caymans".
Saludos.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Carol Gullidge : I don't feel that "clot" really works here in English//thanks! It's hard to explain why, but "clot" simply doesn't "read well" here in English - perhaps because it's hard to reconcile with caymans, however sluggish they may be! (I wish I cd explain better

Thanks for your comment.

slow knot of caymans

knot - imagining the caymans sleeping close together, so they almost look tangled up with each other.

the caymans huddled on the marshy banks woke up at our approach and ambled slowly away

la frase empezaría: "As we made our way through the waters for a few leagues ..."

the slow-floating clods of alligator backs

"Grumos" is important to translate, I think, and "alligator" is more vivid than "cayman."
Peer comment(s):

neutral Carol Gullidge : clods (as in a clod of earth) doesn't really work here, and caymans are caymans!
