eventos corporativos

Selected
the organization of private events and groups, and of organizational conventions.
I think that the original was carelessly drafted, and that "eventos privados" and "grupos cerrados" refers to the same thing. This is my suggestion for resolving the redundancy, and thus improving on the original.
Sometimes you can wrack your brains over issues like this until you realize that the problem is with a sloppily written original text.
I do not know that this is the case here, but I strongly suspect that it is. If not, I would challenge other responders to meaningful differentiate between the two terms. We can then see if whatever solutions thus generated are more plausible than what I am suggesting.
Suerte.

CORRECTION:
the coordination of private events and groups, and of organizational conventions.
[to avoid ugly repetition of "organization....organizational."

Or, possibly, even "large conventions."
I don't think that "institucional" has any specific meaning here, and that the events in question could be corporate or professional in nature, or perhaps those of non-profit entities.

Stated otherwise, I believe that the "eventos privados" and "grupos cerrados" belong to one and the same semantic unit.

Closed Group
Esta es la traducción apropiada. Un "closed group meeting/party/event"
es un evento donde no se permite la entrada de nadie después que el evento comienza. No es necesariamente privado, solo indica que no se permite la interrupción del mismo por personas que llegan tarde.

An open group is one in which people are allowed to come and go in the group as they desire with no commitment for regular attendance.
A closed group is one in which the people make a time commitment to attend all meeting and no additional people are allowed in the group once it is formed for a specific period of time (like 6 months) or until the group size decreases to a certain minimum number like 8.

: Your references bear absolutely no relevance to the tourism/travel context of the posted query, and the term "closed group" would never be used in such a context.

Thanks for your opinion. However, I have attended several meeting/conferences where nobody is allowed to enter after the speaker has started, and they all have been denomiated as closed conference or closed group meetings. Have a great weekend.

private functions
I see why you post this, because the forementioned 'eventos privados' seems to cover it (and I agree with Robert's comments). I toyed with 'invitation only' but all the groups could be restricted in this way. Anyway, unless you incorporte it under the first 'private events' here is my suggestion - it does seem to be in contrast to 'corporate'
