(South American) native bamboo species (woven panels)

or, if you wish to give the Latin name, which is the most accurate identifier for the plant:

(South American) native bamboo species (chusquea culeou) (woven panels)

- to distinguish it from Asian bamboo.

- according to Lorena's reference the bamboo grows in Chile and Argentina; if the text relates to another country, you could put "South American native bamboo species", otherwise just "native bamboo species (woven panels)"
Peer comment(s):

agree Jennifer Levey : Yes - It's widely regarded as a weed here in Chile, although it is used in similar ways to Asian bamboo: lightweight furniture, decorative panels, plant stakes, etc.

Thanks, Deborah. Your explanation is excellent, but I preferred to give just one single term.
