: Despite my general consent with your thoughts in the discussion panel I am not quite happy with this: 'Durchbruch' implies a connotation of impulsivity (breakout or such...), not merely disclosure or revealment.

Regarding -orientiert, -gestützt etc., I think that these are not original German composites, but modern Denglish medspeak (or psychobabble). Kardiale Symptome = cardiac related symptoms; Computertechnologien = computer associated technologies; unter Bildwandlerkontrolle = fluoroscopy assisted; etc.

You know how German loves "teilweise" (there are numerous in every report) and long, doppelt-gemoppelt sentences with composite words with endings such as -orientiert, gestuetzt, etc.
I just took a break and thought I'd joke around a bit, following on
L-man's entry, which made me smile... No offence to German in its "Hochdeutsch", properly used, version!
