Spanish term

Convenio específico de colaboración

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
Hello everyone!

I'm translating a convenio específico de colaboración between a Spanish university and a religious order that established their partnership to run a masters program in religious studies. I'm wondering if the word "específico" has an equivalent in English. "Partnership Agreement" seems right for "convenio de colaboración," but does the word específico imply that it's a particular kind of partnership, such as a limited liability partnership? Should I just go with partnership agreement?

As this phrase is from the title of the document, there isn't really additional context. If you need more information about the nature of the contract to answer, I'll be happy to respond to questions in the comments. Thank you in advance for your help!

Nick

it doesn't mention "partnership" in the original, FWIW
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : Yes, and although it's a partnership in the "ordinary" sense, the term should be avoided as it would imply a legal partnership

Thank you for your confirmation.
agree philgoddard : 'Specific' appears to be redundant, and depending on the context you could leave it out.

no, I don't think you can leave it out.

agree Toni Castano : Correct, and yes, keep "specific", since a specific collaboration agreement is different to a, for instance, general collaboration agreement.

agree Yvonne Gallagher : I'd keep "specific" too

ad hoc co-operation (partnership) agreement

'when in doubt, leave out' is the translational get-out. Yet the distinction in Anglo-American law is one drawn between a general and special arrangement or PoA = Power of Attorney, 'specific' misleadingly highlighting a one-off out of a group of contracts.
Example sentence:

IATE: competition law [BUSINESS AND COMPETITION, competition] economic support [ECONOMICS, economic policy] COM en ad hoc aid COM es ayuda específica COM ayuda ad hoc COM

A de facto partnership, sometimes called an “Ad Hoc Partnership”, is an informal business arrangement between two or more parties.
