Ovviamente è palese che nel momento in cui due o più imprese scelgono la via della produzione integrata verticale o orizzontale, per ripartire le diverse fasi del ciclo produttivo e per evitare eccessi o abusi nella gestione (caso dell'impresa fiancheggiatrice), esse utilizzino il contratto come strumento regolatore di rapporti giuridici e patrimoniali.
