: Correct but it should have been विचार विमर्श के बाद 'लिए गए' निर्णय not 'लिया गया' निर्णय because source word is 'informed decisions' which is plural. Also 'करके' is Punjabi word and is not used in standard Hindi.

For example, a person might make an informed decision to join the military (or not join) after researching to find out if the lifestyle, benefits, and travel opportunities are what he/she wants.

इस वाक्य पर विचार करें - The teacher informed the class that there would be a test tomorrow.
यहाँ inform करने का काम वाक्य का कर्ता (teacher) कर रहा है। informed के इस तरह के प्रयोग के लिए सूचित ठीक है।
पर आतिक़ ने जो उदाहरण वाक्य दिया है,

उसमें informed अगल ढंग से प्रयोग हुआ है और उसका अर्थ भी अलग है। यहाँ informed का अर्थ है जानकारी प्राप्त करके, या जानकारी पर आधारित कोई काम करना। अँधेरे में तीर मारना नहीं, बल्कि दी गई सूचनाओं को तोल-मोलकर नफे-नुक्सान पर विचार करके कोई निर्णय लेना।
इसके लिए सूचना पर आधारित या जानकारी पर आधारित अधिक ठीक है।
चिकित्सा, आप्रवास आदि में इस पद का उपयोग होता है। यहाँ क़ानूनन यह आवश्यक होता है कि रोगी/आप्रवासी को सभी प्रासंगिक सूचनाएँ उपलब्ध कराई जाए, उसके बाद उससे निर्णय लेने को कहा जाता है। इसी को informed decision कहा जाता है।
'सोच-समझकर' भी ठीक नहीं लगता क्योंकि यहाँ बात केवल सोचने या समझने की नहीं है - पहले सोचने-समझनेवाले को आवश्यक सूचनाएँ देना होता है, उसके बाद, वह इन सूचनाओं को समझता है, और उन पर विचार करता है। अतः 'सोच-समझकर' में सूचना देने की महत्वपूर्ण चरण नदारद है।

: informed decision से तात्पर्य है कि निर्णय लेने वाले को संबंधित विषय के बारे में जानकारी है और वह उसी जानकारी के आधार पर निर्णय ले रहा है। अत: सूचना पर आधारित निर्णय उचित प्रतीत हो रहा है।
