I could not find a Hindi equivalent despite searching the most comprensive dictionaries. It appears that we have not evolved any word for it. Therefore, you may consider transliterating it as Kawashiorkar only. Alternatively, you may translate it as proteeno(n) kii kamii say honey wAla rog.

Kawashiorkar is a disease caused due to deficiency of proteins.
Symptoms-:

(1) Child becomes irritable, anaemic & has an enlarged liver

(2) Abdomen & feet of the child swells due to retention of water.

(3) Brain development & mental capacities of child is retarded

Cure-: A protein rich diet containing
(1) Wheat, gram, peanuts, soyabean & jaggery

(2) Animal protein like meat & fish

क्वाशिओरकर

यह प्रोटीन की अत्यधिक हीनता से उत्पन्न विकार है। 1-3 वर्ष के बच्चे को जब प्रतिदिन के आहार में 1 ग्राम प्रोटीन/किग्रा शारीरिक वजन से भी कम मात्रा मिले तब बच्चा इस रोग से पीड़ित हो जाता है।

This word is originally of the Ga language which is spoken in Ghana. It is accepted as it is in English and many other languages, including Hindi.
