English term

plantlet

English to Norwegian Science Botany
"As part of our sustainability initiatives, (the company) distributes coffee plantlets to coffee growing communities all over the world." "the Tanzanian Coffee Research Institute (TACri) could produce somatic embryos to distribute plantlets to farmers or to plant mother gardens" ... I have one proposed Danish translation for this: "regenereret plante" but I'm not sure it works in Norwegian. Suggestions appreciated.

småplante

"Plantlet": a very young and small plant. Ref. Encarta

Example sentence:

Småplanter av H. japonica har grodd inn i vevet på dette sekkedyret og dekker det nesten fullstendig. H. japonica plantlets grow into the tissue of the host, a solitary Ascidian, and cover it almost completely.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Takk! Ser at Norsk Landbruksordbok sier: seedling = frøplante/kimplante, og at SNL.no bekrefter at frøplante = kimplante. Plantlet ser ut til å kunne være en kimplante som brukes til et bestemt formål, altså er ikke Clue helt presis her (etter mitt skjønn). Takk for hjelpen :) "

stikling

Just guessing - stiklinger I believe to be the next step up from seeds, as something that is ready to start growing in a fertile environment. Itt has in fact started, and lacks the shelf life common to seeds.
