2 Program Instruction Syntax
2.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the syntax and semantics of the instructions that can be used
when compiling a boring-milling program.
The examples given in this chapter have been made for explanatory purposes. It is
inadvisable to use them when conducting machining tests.
The instructions recognized and used by the CNC may not all be described in this
chapter. The CNC accepts an expansion to the language made by programmers other
than those of ESA/GV and without ESA/GV being informed of such modifications.
These programmers are therefore responsible for integrating the documentation in
order to illustrate the changes they have made..
2.1.1 What is a program
A program is a list of instructions that define the machining operations to which a
sheet must be subjected.
An instruction is the most simple operation a machine can carry out. Each instruction
accomplishes a particular function. The following categories of instruction are
available on the machine::
