Italian term

corpi ricettori superficiali

Italian to English Science Environment & Ecology description of a waste treatment facility
This section relates to avoiding contamination of ground water, soil, etc. Apparently "recettori" and "ricettori" are both correct. Please can somebody tell me what these "corpi ricettori" are? Many thanks.

Just to explain more fully: "corpi" refers here to "corpi idrici" (bodies of water), and if they're bodies of surface water (superficiali) then they would probably be lakes/rivers (or possibly even the sea), as opposed to groundwater such as water contained within aquifers or wells (presumably these are what "profondi" refers to):

"Receiving" means that something is flowing into them, probably waste water etc. coming from the waste treatment facility, and the point they're making is that whatever effluents are being pumped out mustn't become contaminated with any substances that would pollute the soil or bodies of groundwater/surface water into which they flow (hence "receiving surface-water bodies", only here you'd have to change the word order to accommodate "profondi": "receiving surface-water and groundwater bodies").
