Italian to English Other Names (personal, company)
Can someone please tell me how the letter "g" in this word is pronounced phonetically?I have to transcribe it in Latvian

hard g

Before "i" or "e", Italian "g" is pronounced like English "j"; before other vowels like English "g" in "goat".

That's why some Italian words have "gh" (e.g. "spaghetti"), to show that it's a hard "g".

It's a hard 'g' like English 'go'

For example 'gatto' (cat) is pronounced 'gah toh'. HTH.
