Italian term

andamento temporale

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Nuclear Eng/Sci
In document discussing aircraft impact force studies on nuclear power plants (with a view to protecting plants against such impacts)

Discussion

Fiona McBrearty (asker) Mar 9, 2009:
Agree Yes, I agree. In the end I used "time progression" as that is one of the terms used by the International Atomic Agency doc
AeC2009 Mar 9, 2009:
time progression better than time history, imho I tend to agree with you, though I would try to find out something that stresses more the "temporal" aspect of the concept. In this case I think that the problem is not with "temporale" but with "andamento", which in this case, I now understand, can't be translated with trend. I would rather go for somethig like "temporal progression" that seems to me to express the meaning.

Note from asker:
In one of the main references this doc refers to, http://www-pub.iaea.org/MTCD/publications/PDF/Pub1159_web.pdf, they use the terms "time history" and "time progression" which I think is what they mean here.
