According to Daiwa Shoken site (http://www.daiwa.jp/ja/glossary/jpn/00076.html), 上放れmeans as follows: 株価が一気に大きく上昇すること。株価がそれまでの水準を超えて一気に大きく上昇したり、前日の終値と比べて大きく上昇して寄り付くことを「上放れ」と言います。反対に、これまでの水準と比べて大きく株価が下がることが、「下放れ」です。Therefore, I would render it as "sharp rise (in stock prices)."
