I agree with Leif, that this is not really Norwegian, but I don't think it means 'skid' in this context. To me, skidding is something more accidental, rather than intentional as in this case.

I would propose 'slid' (to slide) in this particular case.
Example sentence:

The containers are slid in flush against the wall of the living accommodation. In this way we can avoid lifting them in with a crane.

The Norwegian is far from perfect and so is the English in the file, which is why I believe that the author meant "slide" and not "skid". Thank you for your help.

skid

This is basically not Norwegian, probably taken more or less directly from English. The Norwegian meaning would be 'skyve' or 'sleide'.

Well, I did not intend to shoot you down :) I guess slide would also be perfectly understood in this context, but as long as the source seems to have stolen skid directly from English, it might be appropriate here.
