Serbian term
ije/je and e (primjer and primer) into English
Serbian to English

Poetry & Literature
This is a part of a theatre play and it is explainging the audience the difference between Serbian and Croatian.
"Primjer umesto primer. Rjechi umesto rechi. Umjesto umesto umesto. Prjedsednik umesto predsednik. Pjevaj umesto pevaj. Pjucaj umesto pucaj. Ubij umesto ubi."
I could use phrases like "theater and theatre" or "colour" and "color", but words used in the play do have a certain meaning and are there for a reason.

I agree with Vuk.
Maybe you could use "shot" instead of "shoot", or "sang" instead of "sing".
Perhaps somebody else has a better idea.
Good luck with this difficult task.

This seems as it is a comedy play for the examples are not the right ones.
For example predsednik should be predsjednik.
I would not use AmE versus BE.
Anyway I think it is a tough one.
