Spanish term

legitimación ad processum y legitimación ad causam

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general)
My attempt:

legitimación ad processum - procedural/legal capacity (e.g. to be party to proceedings?)

legitimación ad causam - standing to be sued (legitimación pasiva ad causam) / standing to sue (legitimación activa ad causam)

Selected

locus standi (capacity to litigate generally) and standing ad litem (for the specific case)

The web ref. should be looked at for the first unaccepted answer.

More context is need in this case, namely if are these two headers to pleading passages.

Anyway, they are two distinct concepts and ought not to be conflated as 'synonyms' cf. issue estoppel and cause-of-action estoppel in the context of res judicata.
Example sentence:

Lalegitimación en el proceso y la legitimación en la causa son situaciones jurídicas distintas.

In law, locus standi means the right to bring an action, to be heard in court, or to address the Court on a matter before it.

...the legal standing consists of two essential elements: the legal standing of the plaintiff [legitimación procesal activa or ad procesum</b<] and the legal standing regarding the cause itself [legitimación procesal causal or “ad causam”]. The first one is an essential requisite for a trial to initiate and must be evidenced during the whole process... The second one is an essential requisite for the judge to issue a favorable judgment [to the plaintiff]...
