Born in Austria, I studied and worked for 13 years in Germany, 27 years in South Africa and the last 11 years in the UK. Am therefore fully bilingual, with both English and German as home languages.

My highest academic degree with thesis submitted in English: PhD in Medicine, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, validated by University of Innsbruck, Austria as equivalent to Dr. rer. nat.


Highest Academic degree with thesis submitted in German: Diplom-Biologe (MSc Biology), Albert-Ludwigs Universität, Freiburg, Germany.

I have produced numerous academic publications and contract reports in environmental physiology, ergonomics, computer modelling, pattern recognition, image processing and electronic commerce, developed and marketed educational software and co-founded an online-education company.

Since 2001, I have worked as a freelance translator, gaining experience with reports, operating instructions and contracts in fields such as medicine, sciences, production and software.
