Bio
Puerto Rican de pura cepa / through and through. Although my master degree is in literary translation, I have done a variety of interesting translations because I am an avid reader and a people person, and most of all, because I love to communicate!

About my country:
Puerto Rico is a commonwealth (some might say a colony) of the USA, so we are a cross-cultural country, although the majority of Puerto Ricans do not speak or write English. But, we use a lot of "Spanished" (acriolladas, decimos nosotros) English words! For example: sándwich, Wáshington, wáter (short for water aerobics), María's BBQ, among others. This morning I read about someone who should "alzarce a la ocasión" - literal translation for "rise to the occasion"! Awful! Someone should "tomar medidas para lidiar con la situación / manejar la situación". More words, but it is Spanish.

¡See you, nuevos amigos!
