My passion for learning and utilizing various languages at different setting on a daily basis has always been my strength for the past 26 years.
I am a native Chinese speaker, writer and reader. However, I spent 10 years living in Chile where I studied and became proficient in speaking, writing, as well as reading Spanish. I have achieved to earn a Bachelor Degree in Music Therapy and a Minor in Spanish from Utah State University. Currently, I am working for a hospital in Los Angeles where I often utilize my language skills with patients who do not comprehend English at all.
The unique combination of my four languages (Mandarin, Taiwanese, Spanish, and English) have been my assets that allowed me to be resourceful, as my life has been enriched with treasures of different cultures.
When I lived in Chile, I have always served as a translator for the Chinese Community. Whether it was the embassidor's political visit, or conducting holiday celebrations in three languages, I was always excited to accept the job offer.
I have also worked as a professor assistant for the English speaking people who were interested in learning Spanish and Chinese.
Currently, I am the only employee in my department who is skilled to communicate with non English speaking clients. I enjoy living in Los Angeles because I can continue to educate myself with reading, and to participate in various cultural celebrations. |
