Spanish term

sin conveniencia

Spanish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
From a poem. Here is the context:

carros corriendo
sin prisa.

Tráfico *sin conveniencia*
gente subiendo
a buses sin rumbo.

I'm trying to keep the author's repetition of "sin" by translating each phrase as "without...". Any suggestions for how to translate "sin conveniencia" in keeping with this pattern?

Thanks so much.

without purpose; without rhyme or reason

Have you considered sacrificing your "without" for "with no" throughout. Certainly, in the text shown here, and would add a certain amount of emphasis:

... with no (sense of) urgency..

... with no rhyme or reason

... with no destination

without/with no meaning

you may find it useful to use "with no" rather than without, but that's not my business!

Of course it's your business! Thanks for your suggestion.
