I've been trying to log in to the site for hours and I can't!
I enter my username and password correctly and I'm asked to confirm that I'm not a robot.
I do that and nothing happens, the screen is the same as if I was going to login for the first time... Not to mention the stupid photos I have to identify!
Right now I am using a different computer. If I didn't have another one, I wouldn't have any other way of posting this or even asking for help!
Please sort this out onc

Maybe Oct 10

Not sure, perhaps check your Windows updates/browser updates and cookies on the first PC? Clean the cookies, etc.

Thanks, Lingua 5B. I did that... and I always have my PC updated.
I think this is not a problem on my side.

How come Oct 10

How come it works on another computer then?

On my end, gmail also sometimes interferes (if you use gmail). Apple device keeps asking me to confirm my gmail addresses a thousand times (crazy security system or something else, not sure).

I needed to clear my browser and when I opened the site page and wanted to log in, I couldn't do it.
I'm sure that if I clean the browser on this PC the same thing will happen.
This isn't something to do with me, it's the site itself.
No gmail or Apple here.
It's not normal to have to enter my username and password over and over again and click the stupid captcha button and nothing happens!

It sounds like the user is experiencing a login issue on ProZ.com, potentially related to CAPTCHA verification or browser settings. Here are some steps they could try to resolve the problem:

1. **Clear Cache and Cookies**: Old or corrupted cache/cookies can cause login issues. They should try clearing their browser’s cache and cookies and then attempt logging in again.

2. **Try a Different Browser**: Since they’re using a different computer successfully, they could try using a different browser on the problematic computer to see if the issue persists.

3. **Disable Browser Extensions**: Some browser extensions, like ad blockers or privacy tools, might interfere with CAPTCHA functionality. They could try disabling these extensions temporarily.

4. **Check for Browser Updates**: Ensuring the browser is up to date might fix compatibility issues with CAPTCHA or the login system.

5. **Use Incognito/Private Mode**: Incognito or private browsing can bypass some issues caused by browser settings or cookies, allowing them to test the login process without interference from stored data.

6. **Ensure CAPTCHA Completes**: Sometimes CAPTCHA processes don’t fully load. They should make sure that after selecting the images, the CAPTCHA fully completes (indicating success with a checkmark) before proceeding.

7. **Check Security Settings**: Their security settings, like firewall or antivirus, might be blocking CAPTCHA or login requests. They can try adjusting these settings or adding ProZ.com to the allowed list.

8. **Contact Support**: If the issue persists, they should contact ProZ.com support via email or other methods and provide details of their login issues.

Thanks. ChatGPT was the first resource I turned to before coming here.
I have submitted a support ticket.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one and that the problem isn't with the computer or anything else.
Yesterday, I followed many steps to try to resolve this but to no avail, including creating a new password.
At least this is a warning to Proz users not to clear their cookies or do anything else to maintain their computers.
It's amazing the number of bugs we've seen so far and how they affect not only our use of the site, but also our work and now it even interferes with the dynamics of our PCs.
I still haven't received a reply from the support team....

Same here! Oct 11

Since I cleared my browser history, yesterday afternoon.
Very distressing, as I’m getting private job mails, and can’t access them.
Or can I on ProZ mibile (can’t find it).

Another option to try (for Firefox) Oct 11

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Deleting%20cookies

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/944778

You could also try to uninstall the browser and install it again (export your favs and settings before).
Try also to clear the browser cache (it's not the same as deleting cookies) and temporary files on the computer.

So cookies should not be cleared for now Oct 11

Interesting. I made a test. My Firefox is configured always to clear all cookies and history when I close it. Edge and Chrome not.

It works on Edge and Chrome (I can log out and back in), but not on Firefox, where nothing happens after the Captcha verifications.

Yes but I need to clear cookies for other sites I browse. My browser is not booked for ProZ exclusively.

You can just clear the cookies for the domains you need. You don't need to blow up all your cookies just to clear the cookies for one domain.

I had all cookies deleted by a recent Firefox update and had to change the cookie settings in order to prevent this on the next browser start.
