Fahrt um Fahrt

German to English Marketing Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Daheim in meiner Wohnung herrscht während dessen totaler Stillstand.

Discussion

Ramey Rieger (X) Jan 12, 2016:
@Johanna AHA!! Thank you! Something like burned up/swallowed the pavement?
Johanna Timm, PhD Jan 12, 2016:
Kilometer abspulen is the proper German idiom
LMDean Jan 12, 2016:
runs like clockwork? This is just an idea for combining Fahrt um Fahrt and abspulen in one phrase, referring both to the engine running and the car being reliable.
Julia Burgess Jan 12, 2016:
Extra 'fahrt' here? The 'fahrt' after 'spult' is superfluous, is it not? Or am I missing something?
Ramey Rieger (X) Jan 12, 2016:
trip after trip? Is he talking about it's smoothness? As if it drives itself?

day after day / day in, day out

I reckon they're referring to the reliability of the Peugeot

agree Julia Burgess : More natural than the more literal 'journey after journey'

The Peugeot racked up a lot of miles.

Seems easier to me to express it this way.
