Spanish term

perlas (in this context)

Spanish to English Marketing Food & Drink Tourist Brochure
This is the context, related to Extra Virgin Olive Oil
"Tenemos ya aromatizados con trufa negra, perlas, mermeladas y hemos querido innovar uniendo nuestra Fiesta"
Is there such a thing as edible pearls?

Thank you for any help.

Discussion

Eileen Brophy (asker) Oct 30, 2019:
It is all related to OLIVE OIL, not to "trufas or mermeladas" the olive oil may be included in the "trufas or mermelads" but I do not think the pearls are to add anything sweet to the olive oil, they may be simply "pearls containing olive oil" as I have consumed garlic oil in small round capsules, which could be called pearls perhaps.
Eileen Brophy (asker) Oct 30, 2019:
@Noni Gilbert I think from the text that the only thing that is "aromatizado" are the truffles. I don't see it referring to any other such product in the text, and I am afraid that I can't give any more information than that posted in my question, as there is no more in the text.
Noni Gilbert Riley Oct 28, 2019:
Aromatizados Eileen: could you confirm what this adjective describes? Does the previous sentence make this clear? We seem to be reading the sentence you provide in different ways...
Noni Gilbert Riley Oct 28, 2019:
Olive oil pearls It's just another way of portioning the olive oil (better than plastic doses), maybe a bit of a gimmick, but it's all marketing! Like those bath pearls I used to get in my Christmas stocking! But in this case they are smaller. I therefore thought they might be called olive oil beads, but nobody seems to have chosen that name, or at least I couldn't find a reference with a quick check.

In this case they are NOT saying that they have any other flavour, although of course they could.

@Eileen They are not pieces of truffle... they are a manufactured product.

So they are small pieces of truffles!! As I don't eat truffles I had no idea of such a thing. Thank you very much Liz.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for your help Liz, I prefer to leave it as just pearls, because the truffles are mentioned before and there is a comma between black truffles and pearls."

truffle caviar

Also known as ¨truffle caviar¨. It seems to be a new product.

¨The Truffle Caviar is made from the black winter truffle juice, which is obtained directly from the cooking of the fresh truffle.¨

The TRUFFLE PERLAGE® is a very innovative product proposed by Tartulanghe. It looks like caviar but it tastes like black winter truffle. The Truffle Caviar is made from the black winter truffle juice, which is obtained directly from the fresh truffle during its cooking.
https://www.tartuflanghe.com/en/products/truffle-perlage/

This innovative product looks like caviar but tastes like black winter truffle. Truffle Caviar is made from the black winter truffle juice, which is obtained directly from the fresh truffle during its cooking. This juice, redolent with the aroma of truffles, is then reduced into small pearls through a technique called "spherification." The result is small pearls with the taste of truffle and the color and texture of caviar.
