English term

escheat

GBK English to Japanese Law/Patents Law (general)
The reversion of property to the state when a decedent dies intestate and there are no heirs capable of inheriting, or when the property is abandoned.
Example sentences:
In some states, bank deposits and bank dividends which have been unclaimed for a certain period may escheat to the state. (reference.howstuffworks.com)
Before performing an escheat analysis, one must properly identify states in which escheat laws apply and determine the applicable escheat laws and regulations. (The New York State Society of CPAs)
Generally, since states often do not have a statute of limitation with respect to escheat property, they often look back ten years or more to claim improperly held property. (Schenck SC)
