Discussion

Rob2031 Oct 23, 2008:
In a salute to Swiss thoroughness, perhaps if you're adding Zvieri to the glossary, "Znuni" shouldn't be far behind.
Shane London (asker) Oct 23, 2008:
Will do!
Paul Cohen Oct 23, 2008:
Shane, when it comes time to enter this into the glossary, could you please change the target term to just "Zvieri"? That will make it easier for others to find it in the future. Thanks!

Thank you, babli
agree Paul Cohen : Perfect, but I would think that "afternoon snack" alone would be enough for this context, seehand. We already have the verb "leiten" after all. We're basically talking about cookies and milk here – which is almost always followed by a nap anyway!

Rahel H's explanation makes perfect sense. Seehand's expression appears - while correct - a bit wordy.

explanation of Zvieri

"Zvieri" is Swiss German for a snack that is normally eaten around 4 pm (Vieri = 4). We also say "Zvieri-Pause" for any break we take around 4 pm whether we eat something or not.
