I thought I understood this word, but here it seems to be in a new context.
This is at the top of a form titled "Consulenze" ... specifically, a handwritten report by a neurologist who has been asked to evaluate a stroke patient.
The printed heading reads:
PRESIDIO OSPEDALIERO
Dipartimento di Emergenza e Accettazione
U.O.C. di Medicina e Chirurgia di Accettazione e di Urgenza

Followed by the patient's information and diagnosis, and then the handwritten report.
I've always translated the word as "admissions" or "admitting" ... but now I'm confused by "Medicina e Chirurgia di Accettazione"
How would you translate this word in the line "Dipartimento di Emergenza e Accettazione" if not "Emergency and Admitting"?
How do we translate "Medicina e Chirurgia di Accettazione e di Urgenza"?
(And for U.O.C. -- Unita Operativa Complessa -- I just say "Unit" ... any better suggestions that would sound natural in US English?)

Discussion
A very brief comment now as it's far past my bedtime: I have been thinking and using "Emergency and Admission", but with my current file, I suddenly think I may need a different concept here. At least in the U.S., "Admission" is simply the department/section that takes care of the paperwork and procedures for getting someone into the hospital ... it's not a medical entity, whereas in this case it definitely looks like a unit or department that provides medical care. I may not be clear ... but must go to sleep!
