I use one most of the time (95 %), and many others when the customer requires them, but that is very rare.

Why 'only one'? Mar 25, 2010

Surely one is sufficient!

I have Trados. I use it and am frequently asked by customers to do so.

I bought Deja Vu because I was told it was better. I never used it, because I was already familiar with Trados, the learning curve was too steep and I was never asked to use it by any customers.

So I'm sticking with one. You can gain a huge amount of productivity by buying one system. The advantages of a second system are, to me at least, dubious!

I have 10 Mar 25, 2010

I own 10 and very regularly use 5, depending on the client.

I must say Trados (both 2007 and 2009) is the most frequent one, but I also use the others for huge volumes (last done : 70000 words)

It depends if you count dictionaries on your hard disk, or include both TM and MT SWs.

I would be interested to hear why having more than one tool is worth the investment.
