Hello everybody, After having crashed after an attempt to translate footnotes (I used the repair function) my Trados Workbench toolbar has disappeared. I can still use the shortcuts, and the Trados menu is still available, but under View/Toolbars the option TW4win is no longer there! I tried copying the trados8.dot from the trados folder into the startup folder, but that didn't help, and neither did clicking on the flagman. Also I should mention that every time I close ... Also I should mention that every time I close word, it asks me to save the changes to trados8.dot... not a good sign either. Any ideas on how I could get my beloved toolbar back? TIA Claudia

...that was the first thing I tried, and which obviously didn't help. As I said, I can work with Workbench if I use shortcuts (so Trados must be activated), but can't get the toolbar anymore. Regards Claudia

Do you see the flagman anywhere? If yes, click him, and that should take care of things.

I have the same problem. | Mar 29, 2010 |
For more than 1 year now. If you find a solution, please share back with me. I use shortcuts, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+U = "fix the document". Useful.

This seems to be exactly the solution to my problem, if only I knew how to "run a macro", or rather, if I understood the scarce information in Word Help correctly, how to create one in order to then run it. Do you? If so thanks for letting me in on the secret Kind regards Claudia

Hi Claudia, if by any chance you have Adobe writer installed and integrated in Word, disable pdfmaker.dot in Tools (Extras) and then add-ins (Vorlagen und add-ins). another idea would be checking the disabled items in Word: Go the the interrogation mark - then info - a window will pop up and you'll have one tab with disabled items (deaktivierte Elemente), if Trados.dot is listed: click on it and enable it again. Hope that's help good luck

On Word: TOOLS > MACRO > MACROS > Trados*.dot > Add > Run This should solve the problem. Save Trados when you're asked (when closing Word).

Hi Gammagin, I don't have the full Acrobat (just the reader), so that is not the issue, and your other tip didn't work either... But thanks for the effort, with all the advice I get here one of them should be able to solve the problem. Kind regards Claudia

Hi Luisa, It seems that the Macro did something, but instead of getting me the toolbar back I now have two Trados menus !!! Any ideas on this? In the Templates there is still only one trados8.dot though. Thank you Claudia
A shot in the dark... | Mar 30, 2010 |
Hi Claudia Have you tried this? Open Word. At the top after Files and Edit you have something like View (My Word 2003 is in Danish...) Click that and choose Toolbars. If TW4Win is not ticked, tick it. Hope it helps.
