Some of which are one-off (normally small) jobs and some turn into more long-term relationships. The bulk of my work still comes from my more established clients, though.

I skipped "new" in the poll question.
I worked for 13 clients this year, but only 2.5 were new (0.5 stands for one I worked for from November 2010 to September this year... case closed now)

(A few mins later)... I just looked at my tax return for the final quarter 2010 and I billed 11 clients, so in a total of about 30 occasional punters I maybe have about 15 "regular" clients (although the regularity may be only one shortish text once a year) and only 3 or 4 of them are agencies.
I also seem to have about a dozen TMs, some client specific, others by area. The thing is, I find questions about these kind or details a slog, as they mean I have to spend time checking my records to find out. Normally I don't worry about these kind of details - the main thing for me is to service them all, keep them happy, bill them all on time and get paid likewise.
The rest is just donkeywork to me - I'm more likely to be agonising over an adjective I used a week previously than how many clients I currently have or whether my earnings are up or down on the previous month/quarter/year etc... ▲ Collapse

3 with only a single job and they appear usually to deal with languages other than my working pairs, so I dont expect they will become regular clients.
6 others have been repeat clients but it's too early to tell if they will be come regular clients.

I was going to say the same as Mary, although I have had a few less new clients than her!

I did however get a lot of work from a customer that hadn't sent me any in ages.

Most of them for a single job. I have one client now that pays so well and gives me so much work that it crowds out the others. Otherwise my client base would be much larger. I find that I'm turning down jobs almost every day. Today I turned down three.
