I'm not counting! May 11

I used to take long vacations when my children were still at home, but they are long gone and we haven’t spent vacations together for some time (trying to get 10 people agreeing on the same date and place is an almost impossible task…). I enjoy having one or two days off here and there between jobs, rather than long vacations. It all adds up probably to more than 4/5 weeks a year, but I’m not counting!

Never May 11

I only take days off when I have no pending work. Even on vacation, I continue to take on tasks, either completing them at the end of the day or outsourcing them. Having nothing to do triggers my anxiety

I have the chance May 11

to live on the French Riviera, beautiful weather most of the time, warm summers, mild winters. The sea in the south, mountains in the north. I feel like being on holiday during a good part of the year. Makes working much more pleasant.

3-4 weeks May 11

I need my time away from my work and computer. Two festivals, the annual holiday with my wife and the occasional day off when I feel like it add up to 3 to 4 weeks a year.
It's actually a little saddening to see that most replies so far are actually "no holidays".

At least, that's what people keep telling me, knowing that I'm retired

6, I think May 11

6, but I stay at home during that time, and I'm available for work. Does that count? Or do you mean something else by "holidays"?

All May 11

I *enjoy* all of them.

I *have* about four planned weeks off and loads of odd days off, and then there is all the unplanned free time. It’s not a bad life.

For 26 years - out-of-town vacations, stopovers from overseas business trips and in-house "rehabilitation" weeks, some for me and some - for grossly overdue major house chores.

Never worked a day on vacations. But just like other colleagues, I grew older, slowed down on major travel (not quit!) and spend much more relaxing time at home. My black Tyapa turned 17 and I have a new rescue arrival that was a half-dead, half-bald, terribly abused stray with PTSD when I got him. Unlike my other 5 cats over 3 decades, he is neither capable nor trained to run the household without me. Today both are going strong! all furry and happy but they need me at home and I enjoy "holidays" with them.

If the question also implies official holidays - none. Either it simply coincides with my personal plans or I would take an assignment. In theory, I would accept or decline a job any time for any reason regardless of any official calendar. In practice, I'm officially off the translation market. The kind of interpretation I provide is required 24/7/365 and I have my fair share.
