Not sure Apr 9

I did engage in active marketing when I started my translation career some 40 years ago, but I haven’t marketed myself for a long time because in the meanwhile I’ve managed to build a base of loyal and regular customers, which lately has been decreasing but I am at the end of my career…

Networking is the most useful skill imo Apr 9

My personal experience as a translator has shown me that those with the best networking skills are those who land the longest-lasting clients and jobs. Marketing skills are useful but marketing often falls on deaf ears unless serious networking skills are there to back them up and make sure the 'right' people pay attention. I know highly successful, never unemployed translators who, when they aren't working, spend their 'free time' networking non-stop.

Our profession Apr 9

Our profession is dead. I do not need any 'AI' generated objections.

No, aggressive marketing is pointless.

Why was this option not included?

The point is to make more money ourselves, not make all sorts of 'consultants' and 'marketing experts' rich by attending courses which turn out to be of no value in the real world.
