Contest-related pop-up messages

Could we have a function to disable those contest-related pop-up messages please?

The huge message that is displayed on the front page is quite enough (I would be happy not to see that every time I visit the site, but at least I can try and ignore it), but those pop-up messages are simply annoying (and not very "professional" I think - they keep reminding me of very obstrusive ads).
