I was looking for a CAT that´s not as expensive as TRADOS for the time being- Wordfast, ForeignDesk... Does anybody know if these can be used with Linux and OpenOffice.

And another question, are Trados and ForeignDesk compatible.

would appreciate some feedback,

reg. anu

Linux compatible CAT tool Nov 30, 2002

Try Wordfast

http://www.champollion.net/

it is compatible with Linux (Mandrake, XFCE, VMWare & Office 97)) and Linux (Suse, KDE2 + Crossover & Word 2000) and Yves Champollion is a very nice and helpful man. Price very reasonable (170 € only)and works like a breeze. Try the free version it is quite complete.

Is this Mr Champollion related in any way to the famous person of the same name who decyphered the hieroglyphs?

Yes they\'re related. Yves has called his macro module \"Rosette\" in honour of his ancestor.

Gerard

Screenshots Dec 1, 2002

Hi Jean-Pierre,

Somehow Yves managed to reproduce Samy\'s screenshot twice. (Maybe it was the stress caused by his business partner ( ). My screenshot, which was the one showing Wordfast used with Crossover Office, has appeared at:

www.geocities.com/wordfast/linux/linux.html.
