*.txml and *.txlf files and Xbench

The files I receive from my client (via GlobalLink) are .txlf files. I need to be able to use Xbench to QA check the files. Apparently, Xbench only supports *.txml, not *.txlf.
Question to the knowing experts: Is there a way to convert *.txlf files into *.txml so I can use Xbench? Alternatively, do you know of any other QA Tool that can handle *.txlf files and allows me to add customized checks?
Thanks in advance for your help!

TXLF = XLIFF Oct 23, 2015

TXLF is just an extension, the file itself is XLIFF. I would think Xbench can process is as a generic XLIFF file.

check comes up empty Oct 23, 2015

That's what I thought, reading about *.txlf files, however, the Xbench check either comes up empty or tells me that all segments are untranslated, even if I have confirmed and committed them?
