Clean WFC files in WFP

Hello,

My company recently changed from WFC to WFP, but there remain some uncleaned WFC files to be treated. WFC has been completely removed from our computers (company policy).

Is there a way to clean the older WFC files in WFP and get a unilingual Word document in the target language?

You can do it in Word Dec 1, 2015

No, WFP won’t be able to "clean" bilingual Word documents translated with WFC. However, you can do the cleaning in Word, using Word’s find/replace function: just replace hidden text with nothing. This will delete all source texts and delimiters, leaving only the target texts. Of course, your TM won’t be updated if you do it this way.

Import the source files to WFP, plug in the TM used previously, and retranslate the files from the TM, if the files are fairly straightforward without any particular formatting, it might not take very long. You would however probably have to insert tags as you go, so it might be somewhat time-consuming.

Dominique's idea is probably better of course!

Or just install a demo version of WFC to clean those files up, if company policy allows...
